Modules 2-9 consist of; wire splicing procedures, through hole component removal and installation, chip and MELF rework procedures, rework of SOIC/SOT components, J-lead and QFP rework, printed wiring board circuit and laminate repair, conformal coating removal.

The CIS program is modularized to allow for maximum flexibility in meeting individuals training needs. Module 1 is an introduction to the process requirements of J-STD-001, Module 2 focuses on wires and terminals, Module 3 emphasizes through-hole technology and Module 4 emphasizes surface mount technology. Module 5 focuses on inspection, inspection methodology, and process control. Modules 2-5 include a hands-on training exercise. Each module consists of 8 classroom hours.
